To empower Medical Laboratory Officers with the skills and insights necessary to maximize the diagnostic value of peripheral blood film (PBF) examinations, going beyond automated counts to identify morphological clues that aid in the diagnosis and monitoring of hematological and systemic diseases.
Objectives:
- Explain the principles, indications, and clinical relevance of peripheral blood film examination in routine and specialized diagnostics.
- Identify and interpret key morphological abnormalities in red cells, white cells, and platelets, and correlate them with underlying pathological conditions.
- Apply best practices in the preparation, staining, and reporting of peripheral blood films to enhance diagnostic accuracy and clinical decision-making.
